Burn it well

Candle care

  1. 01

    Stand it in a holder that grips the base and will not tip. A taper that leans drips down one side.

  2. 02

    Trim the wick to 5mm before every light, so the flame stays small and steady.

  3. 03

    Keep it out of a draught — moving air is what makes a taper gutter and run.

  4. 04

    Put it out before the flame reaches the holder, and never leave it burning unattended.
